Winter – A Time of Reflection and Inner Strength

Winter is a season of concealment and hidden depths—a time to pause, reflect, and find inner peace. During this phase, the kidneys, the most sensitive organ of winter, are particularly important. They are the seat of our innate constitution and willpower.

Important Organs of Winter:

  • Kidneys

  • Bladder

  • Ears

Strengthening
The winter exercises strengthen the kidneys, promoting both physical and mental health. They have a positive impact on the following areas:

  • Concentration and coordination

  • Memory

  • Fertility

  • Bone structure and hearing

  • Hair growth and nails

  • Stability and identity

  • Confidence and willpower

Prevention Through Movement
The moving form not only strengthens but also helps prevent typical age-related issues, such as:

  • Hearing loss

  • Graying hair

  • Hair loss

  • Memory weakness

  • Anxiety disorders

Prevention Through Stillness
The still form, Jing Gong, is particularly helpful in preventing physical ailments associated with winter and weakened kidney energy:

  • Memory weakness

Jing Gong not only strengthens physical health but also enhances concentration and coordination.
